Minor signed contract to relinquish dog, can they void contract?

Our rescue just took in 2 weeks ago a dog from a guardian. We had her sign the relinquishment form. The father made the arrangements to relinquish the dog, but the 16 year old daughter signed the form. Now the mother wants the dog back after 2 weeks. Can they legally take back the dog?

“Foster” (Relinquisher) refuses to give cat to approved adopter.

I’m the president of an animal rescue organization in Oceanside. We have a shortage of Foster’s so we have a program called bring your own foster. Which is basically keep your animal in your home, and we will adopt it out. We have a great adopter for a cat that we brought into organization this way. Contract signed, fees paid, adopters excited… Relinquisher changed her mind. Help.

How can I get kitten from abusive ex?

What I can do to get my baby kitten back? Before breaking up, he gave me a kitty for my surprise. My ex abused me and threw my kitten twice. First time threw my kitten girl on the wall and second mirror. Before I got the kitten, we used to have another cat named Brownies. I don't know what or where he is, been missing it under his care. I don't want same thing to happen to her. What can I do?

How to sue an adoption/foster agreement contract breaker?

Reading over these questions, I noticed that signed adoption/foster agreements are absolute and complete jokes! And anyone without deep pockets might as well not bother with them. If the person in possession of the animal does not abide by the signed agreement, the only recourse is to file a civil lawsuit, and I am reading this could cost $5,000-$10,000. I am low-income and forced to operate my rescue without help because all the organizations are full.

Rehoming a dog.

I received a dog in April 2023 from a lady who couldn't keep him. She had initially planned to give him to someone else. I kept the dog until October 28th when I had to move, and he wouldn't ride in the bed of a truck. I rehomed him and have messages confirming she gave him to me. Now, she's claiming I stole the dog. Can I get in trouble for rehoming him, considering our agreement was never about keeping him until she got on her feet?

Dog Within Family.

Hi, my brother is in a nursing home and will not be coming home. I have his dog and would like to know how much authority I have in the dog's life. I do tell people he is my brother's dog, and I have custody. What exactly does that mean? Do I have to ask my brother about everything I do with the dog?

How to get my dog back?

If someone took me to court over my dog, and the person won because they paid for the dog, but I’ve had the dog for 2 years, how could I fight that?

Can I take the dog.

I need advice regarding a Welsh Terrier owned by a friend. I've witnessed the dog being mistreated and it's heart-wrenching. The owner reacts harshly when the dog doesn't obey, often yelling and grabbing the dog. I've even seen the dog pulled forcefully. When I'm around, the dog prefers to be with me. It's clear the dog doesn't want to be near the owner when forced to do things.

Ownership

My ex-girlfriend bought a puppy and gave it to me to raise. I have paid for vet bills, medications, and food for 8 months now. She claims that she bought him for both of us. She lives two hours away. We are broken up now, and she says she's coming to get the dog. Who gets custody of the dog?

Dog rehoming

We rehomed my daughter's dog yesterday, and now I want her back. My daughter works full time and is taking flying lessons, so she felt she did not have time to care for her dog. The couple that took her both work outside the home and will leave her home alone and put her in doggie day care. They also do not have good access to their yard from their house. We made a mistake and want her back. Can we ask for her back? We did not charge a fee and just gave them the dog.
