Training/Boarding Facility lost my dog.

I recently went on a trip and left my ESA with a boarding facility. A day below coming home they asked me to call and told me my dog got out through a hole in their fence. She claims to have helped, made reports to animal control, and spoke to ask the neighbors in the area. After I called animal control for any updates they said they have no information of the trainer or the situation with my dog. I also passed out fliers to every neighbor and they ask claim to not know him or about the situation. She has refused to help financially after we were serviced by a K9 search team and is not taking any accountability or providing any compensation. Do I possibly have a case to recover the finances I spent to find my ESA. I am currently trying to recover help from an attorney but have not gotten any response yet.

Formerly convicted animal abuser wants “his” dog back.

If my ex has been convicted of animal abuse in Alberta years ago, is he allowed to take over custody of one of our dogs? They are both registered under my name and not his. He rarely ever has walked them, fed them, taken them all of twice to the vet, never plays with them, and doesn't train them. We've also broken up before and he left them with me including this time. But now wants "his" dog. What are my options? Thank you!

How can I get dog back after changing mind bout re-homing?

I recently re-homed my dog, on social media they looked like a good family. In person they were really nice and dog friendly people. Upon further digging I found the family who took her follow and participate in illegal breeding and dog fighting. Upon finding all this I messaged the people telling them I made a mistake and would actually like her back. I got blocked. But I’m wondering is there a way to go about getting the dog back? If I get the cops involved can they do anything to help?

My beloved pet was killed by my neighbors’ German Shepherds. Can I sue the neighbors if their dogs come into my yard, and should I record it for better evidence?

My dog was killed in the morning April 30th, 2023. The next day at 1 am, May 1st, 2023, the dogs get out again. I'm terrified they may hurt my other small dogs. Dog pound dispatch came on April 30th and took pictures of my dead dog and talked to neighbors, then left. Can I sue the neighbors if their dogs come into my yard, and should I record it for better evidence?

Is there a legal age that foundation rescues are required to get spayed by?

The shelter I am currently fostering-to-adopt from is telling me that I am not allowed to wait until the dog reaches 6 months to get spayed. They have scheduled a spay appointment for her in a few weeks when she will be 3 1/2 months old. The person I'm in contact with is saying it must be done before 6 months because "that's how the shelter system works" - is there a legal age that foundation rescues are required to get spayed by?

Groomers injured my dog.

My dog went to the groomers two days ago and they sent him home with a broken paw. I just want to know what we can do.

Aggressive Neighbor Dog & Neglecting Owners

I have a neighbor who owns two dogs. One of which is his fiancé’s and the dog has been aggressive to me since they moved in over a year ago. He will run the fence line and bark and pounce on the fence. He will stick his jaw under the fence and bark, snarl, and go to bite. About three months ago I adopted two dogs. Their dogs are left outside all day everyday. I only let mine out w supervision. Yesterday the aggressive dog bit one of mine. This has gone on for too long and continues to escalate despite talking with the owners. What should I do?

Violent ex is holding my ESA animal hostage and refuses to give him back to me.

I have a registered ESA animal (cat) that my ex-boyfriend is threatening to hide and keep. I had to leave for spine surgery and have been on disability for the past 4 months recovering. I have been unable to retrieve my cat because of this AND due to him being the perpetrator of domestic abuse. I contacted the police station and domestic abuse center (both local and hotline) and have been advised to find out what my rights are. I have had this cat since 2019, he is microchipped under my name (I have vet records as well) and only moved in with my unstable and abusive ex in 2021. I would really appreciate some advice as to how to proceed/understand my rights.

I know of 2 dogs being neglected. What do I do?

I know of two dogs that are being neglected. Yes, they get fed and get water, but they don’t get baths nor do they get taken outside and are locked up in the same room 24/7 is there anyway I can get the dogs out of the original owners care and into my care?

Can we take ownership of dog due to abuse?

I would like to know the legal ramifications of taking a family member's dog who is being hit when humping pillows, although the owner refuses to neuter the 2 year old dog., and emotionally abusing him by screaming at him and keeping him isolated from everyone even other dogs. The owner also feeds the dog human foods that give him diarrhea and makes him throw up. We love this dog and would love to offer him a better life. What can I do?
