North Shore Animal League America’s Community Outreach Food Bank was created to assist community caregivers with the care of the community cats they have graciously taken responsibility for.
The food provided is for community cats only, not personal pets. Each participating caregiver will be required to fill out a registration form so we can better understand their individual needs, as well as what the needs are in their part of the community. The food provided is supplemental food and is not intended to cover 100% of their community cat colony needs.
Each month a select amount of registered caregivers will be chosen to receive food. A team member will then reach out to arrange a pick-up. Please understand we try to provide supplemental food to as many caregivers as possible, but we unfortunately cannot provide it for every applicant each month. Once you have received food, you may re-apply again 3 months later, however this does not guarantee you will receive cat food due to the large volume of requests we receive each month.
Food pick-up appointments will be scheduled for the first Thursday of every month at our Community Outreach Center located on Long Island in Port Washington, NY.
If you have an emergency food situation, please let us know. If we can assist with it, we will.
