This is Bubba, my new boyfriend, my current crush, the ONE…at least for now…because by the time you read this I might well have another new boyfriend. Just before Bubba, it was Jerome. And before Jerome, there were others, many others. I can’t help myself.

If there’s one thrilling silver lining to COVID-19, it’s the positive effect it’s having on Mother Nature. The message is clear: nature is willing and able to rejuvenate itself. All we have to do is recognize our role for both good and bad and step aside, even a little, and things will improve. Planet Earth has a lot to teach us about hope and resilience.

Life has never felt as fragile as it does right now. Everything has changed, and I keep wondering what the world will be like a year from now. But it doesn’t pay to look too far ahead these days, so I’m trying to stay “in the moment.” And with every moment I give thanks that I’m safe in a home that I love, with Howard, our sweet resident cats, and all of my beautiful fosters. To be honest, I’m jealous sometimes of how innocent these cats and kittens are, blissfully unaware of the terrible state of the world.

My heart goes out to everyone as we struggle together with the spread of COVID-19 causing a national health crisis.  I truly hope that the information below helps keep you, and your pets, safe during the upcoming weeks. I wish everyone well.  I know that we’ll all get through this crisis together—along with our pets!

Sometimes I do wonder about what my pet cats, as well as my foster felines, are thinking about. I just saw that January 22nd is “National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day” and I had to laugh. How perfect is that? Just the other day, I was wondering what Helen Rose might ask me.

The entire cat-loving community is in the middle of celebrating National Cat Lovers’ Month. Everyone who has ever loved a cat needs to get involved. There are some really wonderful and fun feline-focused activities you can participate in to help cats in need.

It’s here! BFF! Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center is officially open! Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters who made this happen. We couldn’t have accomplished this without you! The ribbon-cutting ceremony for BFF was a magical evening for me. BFF is more than a building to me; it represents a leap forward in feline wellness and adoption. The felines we rescue will be much calmer and confident in these beautiful, sunny, spacious cage-free surroundings.

I had a sad month! My beloved feral cat, Muffin, recently passed away. I was heartbroken and truly devastated. It’s amazing how a bond can form between a human and an animal that doesn’t even want to be touched. I fed her every day, 2x/ day for 11 years and bought her heated kitty houses that were placed all over our property. Every day she hissed at me but I knew she loved me, and in a strange way I equated that hiss to a “thank you!” On the day she came very close to me and didn’t hiss, I knew something was terribly wrong.
