Help Write the Next Chapter for This Mother-Daughter Pair
Adjusting to a shelter environment after losing the only home they’ve ever known has taken Pearl and Piper lots of resilience, but these precious felines still have an abundance of affection to share. This beautiful, senior mother-daughter cat duo has spent the past two years in our Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, patiently waiting. They just need someone to give them a chance.
Pearl
Piper
Pearl’s life took a dramatic turn when she was displaced by Hurricane Sandy as a young cat. She found solace in the arms of a devoted adopter who cherished her – and later her daughter Piper as well – for many happy years. The loss of their loving pet parent, however, turned their peaceful world upside down.
Thankfully, they had been enrolled in Animal League America’s Safe Haven Surviving Pet Care Program®, which ensured their future was secure. This program, available to both cats and dogs nationwide, allows pet owners to incorporate pet care into their estate planning, guaranteeing that their beloved animals are protected, no matter what. When Pearl and Piper’s owner passed a couple of years ago, they were transported to our shelter, where we’ve been providing them with all the love and attention they need and desire.
Pearl, sensitive to chaos, longs for a serene, adult home where she can be with Piper, her constant companion. And despite her initial shyness, Piper’s innate curiosity eventually draws her out and she puts her playful and affectionate nature on full display. Thanks to our generous donors, both cats received radiation therapy for their hyperthyroidism, eliminating the need for daily medication. Pearl’s chronic renal disease is managed with special food, easily obtainable at cost through our Pet Health Centers.
