Question

Good afternoon,
I wonder if is possible to share custody of my two cats with my fiance, and how do I that?

Answer

It is possible for people to share custody of animals. The decision to do so should be carefully considered. All too often relationships end and animal custody disputes arise. Animal custody agreements should be in writing and dated and signed by the parties. A description of the animals should be included. Interesting to note is that under a recently enacted New York law, courts must consider the best interests of animals when awarding custody of animals in divorce and separation proceedings.
