Is it legal for the law to put my dog that was i was walking on the side of the rd in an unfamiliar place while taking me to jail.. and I asked them to contact a shelter and they said there wasn't one in lucedale mississippi and they also told a story there is

It is not legal to abandon an animal. The police should safely secure your property and your dog. I suggest contacting your local humane societies and SPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) to report this crime and to try to locate your dog. I suggest you hang fliers, visit and contact animal shelters in your area, contact local veterinarians, post a missing dog alert on Internet lost and found sites and check on these sites to see if anyone found the dog. Consider contacting an attorney as well. I hope your dog is found safe.
