Question

Hi. I rehomed my dog last year. Now I regret it. The new owners love him. But I need him back. It’s causing my severe depression. Anything I could do legally to get him back? Because I don’t think they will give him back.

Answer

People who give their animal away generally have no further rights to that animal. Regrets do not equal rights, making it so important for people to carefully consider the decision to re-home an animal before doing so, not after. I hope the dog has a happy life.
