Question

I gave up my cat to the lady who fostered her earlier. I now realize that I made a huge mistake, and I want her back now. What are my options?

Answer

Generally when a person gives away his/her animal, such person has no further rights to that animal. Sometimes the person who was given an animal will voluntarily return the animal (for free or for a fee). However, many people would be reluctant to return an animal to a person who gave the animal away, despite the expression of regrets, in part because what caused a person to give an animal away could occur again. I hope this all works out for the cat.
